Location
You can get to to BE Grand Resort on Panglao Island by boat or by plane from surrounding islands. Both ports and airports are in close proximity and transfers can be arranged by the resort.
We arrived on Panglao by boat from Oslo. Upon arrival the resort organised a transfer to greet us and take us to the resort. BE Grand Resort is close to the popular Alona Beach where you can satisfy yourself with some retail therapy, cool off at the beach or venture out for a cocktail in the evening. The resort offers free transportation to and from Ahona Beach from 11am to 10:55pm. Although BE Grand Resort is in prime location close to Alona Beach, its proximity is the perfect distance away to still maintain privacy and seclusion.
THE VILLAS
Upon arrival we were greeted by the most friendly and professional staff. They welcomed us with a freshly squeezed juice and cold face towels. The check in process was extremely easy and ran very smoothly. We were then transported in a small buggy to our villa where the driver pointed out various landmarks of the resort.
The villas are located across from the ocean so waking up to the sound of waves and a beautiful beach view was a nice touch. to the rear of the villa was a semi-private meandering lagoon pool directly outside your room. Surrounded by water you really feel like you are in a tropical oasis.
The villa just took our breath away. A beautiful spacious living space paired with modern contemporary design including a huge wall mounded curved television, bar fridge and coffee machine. The bathroom was also very elegant with a his and her’s wash basin and seperate shower and lavatory.
Situated at the front was a balcony with views of the ocean and the garden area. Glass sliding doors in the back opened onto the lagoon pool. Every morning we enjoyed a delicious breakfast of eggs (cooked how ever you wanted), pancakes, fresh fruit, coffee and juices. We requested to have our first ever floating breakfast and the resort staff were happy to meet our needs. They prepared a floating tray and laid all the breakfast and drinks on for us.
The tropical feel around the villa and lagoon pool gave us the impression we were secluded from everyone outside which was really nice. Whether its the sun beds outside your room or the day beds over looking the ocean, it truely is the perfect spot to wind down and relax.
THE RESORT
Although the location is so central, BE Grand Resort has managed to make you feel as though you are remotely tucked away from any hustle and bustle.
The resort has everything you need including five restaurants and bars. One with a great ocean view perfect to watch the sun go down, a spa where you can enjoy complete pamper and relaxation, a massive pool over looking the ocean and a children’s pool where children can enjoy playing with the water cannons. A dive pool where you can experience your first introduction to diving as early as 8 years of age with a certified diving instructor, fitness centre, dive and water sport centre with variety of water sports and diving activities.
Don’t forget to spend time at Lune, the rooftop lounge and enjoy an unimpeded view of Panglao and its neighbouring islands! The resort can help organise any water sports for you, we hired stand up paddle boards from right out front of the resort.
The property is huge and offers the ideal environment for business meetings, celebrations, and weddings. Taking a stroll around is easy too as there are pathways through the resort lined with fairy lights that gives it a magical feel.
The restaurant and Monkey bar is a romantic spot to have dinner over looking the ocean and sunset. One night we had the seafood buffet and it was cooked fresh right in front of us. Fresh locally caught squid, scallops, prawns, tuna, blue crab, fish, mussels and mud crab all cooked right in front of you by the talented chefs. Paired with a cocktail of your choice from monkey bar, ending our night this way made for a perfect unique and memorable experience.
We loved our stay at BE Grand Resort. Its easy to see why its the best luxury hideaway and the perfect choice for a romantic intimate private escape. We cant wait to come back and visit again.
